Bidelspach Nets Two in Wilkes Women's Soccer Tie with FDU-Florham
EDWARDSVILLE –
Emily Bidelspach (Myerstown, PA/ELCO) found the back of the net twice for the Wilkes University women's soccer team opened Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play with a 2-2 tie against Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham at Bruggeworth Field on Saturday afternoon.
The Colonels are now 3-5-1 overall and 0-0-1 in conference play.
Bidelspach put Wilkes ahead in the 36
th minute with an unassisted score.
FDU-Florham tied the score with a goal in the 45
th minute right before halftime.
Bidelspach gave the Colonels the lead back in the 72
nd minute when
Erica Feese (State College, PA/State College Area) found her for the score.
The Devils tied the game in the 88
th minute.
Neither team was able to break through in the two ten-minute extra periods.
Hannah Landis (Red Hill, PA/Upper Perkiomen) made seven saves for Wilkes.
Bidelspach finished with eight total shot attempts.
Tatiana Mancera (Miami, FL/Archimedean Upper Conservatory) added five while
Karyna Vargas (Rahway, NJ/Rahway) totaled four.
The Colonels return to the pitch on Wednesday when they will host Lycoming College for a 7:00 p.m. MAC Freedom contest.
