ANNVILLE, PA – Following a career day receiving for the Colonels yesterday, Wilkes University sophomore Nate Whitaker (Upper Darby, PA/Haverford School) has been named Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference office Sunday afternoon.
 
Whitaker earned his second conference weekly award of the season, and his first offensive player of the week.
 
Whitaker was impressive with seven catches for 226 yards and three touchdowns in a tough 30-27 setback at Lycoming College. They were career-highs for catches and yards in a game. The sophomore, who averaged nearly 33 yards per catch, caught touchdown passes of 85, 53 and four yards. Two of his touchdowns came in the final seven minutes to give the Colonels a chance for the comeback.
 
Wilkes welcomes #9 Delaware Valley University, who is atop the MAC standings and unbeaten, to Schmidt Stadium Saturday on Senior Day starting at 1:00 p.m.
