Wilkes Women's Ice Hockey Drops Second Straight at Nazareth
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Wilkes University Colonels women's ice hockey squad finished their doubleheader against the Nazareth Golden Flyers Saturday afternoon in a United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) matchup.
The Colonels (1-3, 1-3 UCHC) fell 8-0 to the Golden Eagles (6-0, 4-0) as Nazareth claimed the sweep. The Golden Flyers scored three goals in the first period and five in the second to put the Navy and Gold behind and never looked back.
Nazareth outshot the Colonels 61-7, while
Addy Olson (Naples, FL/) recorded 53 saves in a losing effort. Six different Golden Flyers put goals in the net.
The Colonels look to bounce back as they make a pit stop back in Wilkes Barre, Pa. for a crosstown trip to King's Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. The Colonels lead the all-time series against the Monarchs 2-1, and won the last matchup back in 2020 4-2 at King's.
