Wilkes Basketball Travels to Face FDU-Florham in MAC Freedom Action Saturday
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University women's and men's basketball teams are set to travel to Fairleigh Dickinson University – Florham Campus for Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) games Saturday afternoon at the Ferguson Recreation Center in Madison, N.J. The women's game will start at 1:00 p.m. followed by the men's contest at 3:00 p.m.

Women's Preview:
Wilkes enters the conference matchup at 0-1 and 2-5 overall following a loss at home to DeSales on Wednesday to begin MAC Freedom play. The Colonels are 0-2 on the road this season.
Katelyn Kinczel (Highland Heights, OH/Mayfield) leads Wilkes and ranks 13th in the MAC Freedom with 9.9 points-per-game (ppg). She is fourth in the conference with 2.0 made three-pointers a game.
Brianna Horton (Verona, NJ/Verona) is second on the team and 16th in the league at 9.7 ppg. Horton and
Kendra Smith (Hughesville, PA/Hughesville) led the Colonels with seven points against DeSales.
Erin Shober (Reading, PA/Wilson) leads the Colonels with 5.6 rebounds-per-game (rpg). Kinczel is next on the team with 4.4 rpg. Shober currently leads the MAC Freedom with 2.0 blocks-per-game (bpg) and is third on the team in scoring at 6.9 ppg.
Julia Marino (Turnersville, NJ/Washington Township) leads the conference with 5.0 assists-per-game (apg). Smith leads the Colonels with 11 steals which is good for 15th in the league.
Wilkes is seventh in the MAC Freedom with a 52.4 scoring average and fifth defensively allowing 64.7 ppg.
FDU-Florham comes in with a 1-6 overall record and 1-0 in the MAC Freedom after defeating Delaware Valley 61-47 on Wednesday to open the conference slate. The Devils are 1-2 at home this season.
Jade-Dee Tolentino scored 13 points in the victory over the Aggies in her season debut. Tamyah Jones leads the Devils and ranks 18th in the conference with 9.1 ppg. Cassidy Miller leads the league in rebounding at 10.4 rpg.
Angela Downey is fourth in the MAC Freedom with 2.0 three-pointers made per-game and third with 1.6 bpg. Arian Coleman is second with 3.1 steals-per-game and fifth with 3.9 apg.
FDU-Florham is fourth in the MAC Freedom with 47.7 ppg and ranks second allowing 56.4 ppg.
Wilkes is 4-17 against FDU-Florham since the 2010-11 season but have won three of the last five meetings in the series.
Men's Preview:
Wilkes enters its first conference road game with a 2-4 overall record and are 0-1 in the MAC Freedom after falling to No. 25 DeSales in a tight 65-61 battle at the Marts Center on Wednesday night. The Colonels are 2-2 on the road this season.
Trent Fisher (Sellersville, PA/Pennridge) led the Colonels with 18 points as they nearly upset the nationally-ranked Bulldogs. He leads the team and is sixth in the conference with 14.7 ppg this season.
Drake Marshall (Gainesville, VA/Patriot) is ninth in the league in scoring at 13.5 ppg.
Matthew Davidheiser (Reading, PA/Exeter Township) is 18th in the league with 11.3 ppg.
Fisher is 11th and Marshall is 12th with 6.2 and 6.0 rpg respectively to lead Wilkes. Davidheirser is third in the league with a .522 three-point shooting percentage as he has gone 12-for-23 on the season from deep. He is ninth with 2.0 three-pointers made per-game.
Marshall is fifth in the conference with 3.8 apg. Fisher leads the league with 2.2 blocks-per-game and is fifth with 1.7 steals-per-game.
Sean Coller (Hershey, PA/Hershey) is second on the team with 11 made threes including three against DeSales.
Cayden Merrifield (Scranton, PA/West Scranton) is third on the team with nine made three-pointers.
Wilkes leads the MAC Freedom in scoring offense at 85.0 ppg while ranking seventh in scoring defense at 77.0 ppg.
FDU-Florham comes in at 3-4 overall and 0-1 in the conference after a home loss to Delaware Valley on Wednesday by an 83-67 score. The Devils are 1-2 at home this season.
Oliver Ortman and Matthew Johnson are tied for second in the conference with 16.1 ppg. Ortman is fourth in the league with 8.0 rpg and fifth with 2.4 three pointers made per-game. He leads the team with 2.9 apg. Johnson is second in the league with 2.1 bpg.
