Joly Shines as Wilkes Women's Ice Hockey Opens Season at Chatham
NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. – Allyson Joly (Lincoln, RI/) stopped 50 of 54 shots for the Wilkes University women's ice hockey team as it opened the 2020-21 season with a 4-1 defeat at Chatham University in United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) action on Friday afternoon.
The Colonels fell to 0-1-0 while Chatham improved to 2-1-0.
Chatham jumped out to a 4-0 lead with two goals in the first and one each in the second and third.
Wilkes got on the board at 7:01 of the third when Valerie Koenig (Arlington, TX/) notched a power-play score with assists from Abigail Barcless (Hamilton, NJ) and Kendall Castro (Killingworth, CT/).
Shauna Tubbs (Maumee, OH/) led the Colonels in the face-off circle with eight wins.
Wilkes returns to the ice on Sunday when it will host Chatham for a 3:30 p.m. UCHC contest.
