Dill Hat Trick Lifts Wilkes Men's Ice Hockey Past Elmira
ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Colonels looked to bounce back from a tough OT loss against Elmira at home on Friday night. They traveled to Elmira to face the Soaring Eagles in a United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) showdown.
The Colonels (4-3, 4-3) went into the third tied with Elmira (5-3-1, 4-2-1) but came out with a 4-2 victory after a late game-winner from junior forward
Nick Fea (Oak Ridge, NJ).
Junior forward
Tyler Dill (South Lake Tahoe, CA) kicked off a four-goal first period between the two teams, finding the net at the 1:23 with assists from Fea and senior defender
Charlie Spetz (Oak Ridge, NJ). Elmira struck twice in the next three and a half minutes to take a 2-1 advantage. The two goals were at 4:29 and 6:23, the latter on a power play. Dill struck back with his second of three goals at 14:45, with help from junior forward
Donald Flynn (Randolph, NJ) and Fea on the power play.
The horns went quiet for the second period, with Elmira outshooting the Colonels 14-9 in the frame. Fea brought home the game-winner late in the third at 14:34 with help from Flynn, before Dill put the finishing touch on the game and his hat trick with an empty netter at 19:47 with assists from junior forward

Michael Paterson-Jones (Baldwinsville, NY) anchored the victory with 36 saves. Fea and Dill each had three points, with Dill earning his with a hat trick on five shots and Fea with a goal and two assists. Junior forward
Tyler Barrow (Massapequa, NY) and Fea both had six shots on goal to lead the Colonels on the evening.
The Colonels continue their battle for conference playoff positioning as they return to the Toyota Sportsplex for a pair of games to cap off the regular season. They host Neumann at 5:00 p.m. on Friday night, before facing down Chatham for a 7:00 p.m. tilt on next Saturday.
