Wilkes Women's Lacrosse Opens Season with Loss to No. 9 York (Pa.)
EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University women's lacrosse team opened the 2021 season with a 22-0 non-conference loss to No. 9 York College of Pennsylvania on Saturday afternoon at Schmidt Stadium.
The nationally ranked Spartans turned in a dominating performance to open the season, leading 16-0 at halftime.

Ashley Coughlin (Northampton, PA/Northampton) made 10 saves and collected three ground balls in her Wilkes debut. Junior midfielder
Domenica Lerch (Northampton, PA/Northampton) won five draw controls on the afternoon.
York (Pa.) had 13 different players score a goal and 14 players score at least one point. Jenna Cholowinski led the Spartans with five points on three goals and two assists and had a game-high seven ground balls, four caused turnovers and six draw controls. Rachel Della led the way with four goals.
Wilkes will return to action on Saturday, March 13 when they travel to No. 25 Messiah College for a 1:00 p.m. non-conference contest.
