EDWARDSVILLE – Three second half goals were the difference as the Wilkes University women's soccer team fell by a 4-1 final to No. 1-ranked Messiah University at Bruggeworth Field in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Colonels fell to 1-4-0 with the defeat.
 
Wilkes got on the board first in the 24^th minute when Emily Bidelspach (Myerstown, PA/ELCO) dribbled up the middle of the field and placed a perfect shot over the Falcons goalkeeper.
 
Messiah tied the score in the 42^nd minute after a turnover by the Colonels in the defensive end turned into a score. The Falcons added on in the second half with goals in the 48^th, 66^th, and 70^th minutes.
 
Wilkes returns to the pitch on Tuesday when it travels to the University of Scranton for a 7:00 p.m. non-conference contest.
