Wilkes Women's Soccer Falls to No. 1 Messiah
EDWARDSVILLE – Three second half goals were the difference as the Wilkes University women's soccer team fell by a 4-1 final to No. 1-ranked Messiah University at Bruggeworth Field in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.
The Colonels fell to 1-4-0 with the defeat.
Wilkes got on the board first in the 24
th minute when
Emily Bidelspach (Myerstown, PA/ELCO) dribbled up the middle of the field and placed a perfect shot over the Falcons goalkeeper.
Messiah tied the score in the 42
nd minute after a turnover by the Colonels in the defensive end turned into a score. The Falcons added on in the second half with goals in the 48
th, 66
th, and 70
th minutes.
Wilkes returns to the pitch on Tuesday when it travels to the University of Scranton for a 7:00 p.m. non-conference contest.
