Wilkes Women's Ice Hockey Battles in Defeat to Manhattanville
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University women's ice hockey fell by a 9-1 final in United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) competition on Saturday afternoon from the Toyota SportsPlex.
The Colonels are now 1-9-0 in league play and 1-11-0 overall.
Kendall Castro (Killingworth, CT/) netted the lone score for Wilkes at 18:12 of the third on the power-play, assisted by
Valerie Koenig (Arlington, TX/) and
Rachel Morey (Buffalo, WY/).
Allyson Joly (Lincoln, RI) stopped 45 shots before being replaced by
Addy Olson (Naples, FL/), who made eight saves over the final 13-plus minutes.
The Colonels return to the ice on Friday when they travel to Alvernia for a 7:00 p.m. UCHC game.
