Wilkes Women's Ice Hockey Drops Tough Road Contest at Alvernia
READING, PA – The Wilkes University Colonels women's ice hockey squad traveled to Alvernia for the first of a home and away doubleheader against the Golden Wolves Friday evening for a United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) battle.
The Colonels (1-12) found themselves in a scoreless stalemate against the Golden Wolves (6-7-1) until 7:30 into the third period, where Alex Robertson managed to slip in a goal to give Alvernia a 1-0 victory.

Addy Olson (Naples, FL/) recorded 40 saves on 41 shots in the loss, while Julia Beaven blanked the Colonels offense with 22 saves in the shutout. Sophomore
Rachel Morey (Buffalo, WY/) tied for the team lead with six shots on goal while recording a pair of blocked shots.
Alvernia travels to the Toyota SportsPlex Sunday to face the Colonels at 3:30 p.m. in a series the Golden Wolves now lead 3-1.
