ITHACA, N.Y. – The Wilkes women's tennis team suffered its first defeat of the spring season falling 8-1 at regional power Ithaca College Saturday afternoon.
 
Wilkes saw its overall dual match record even at 1-1 following the road loss.
 
Ithaca took all three double matches by scores of 8-4 at No. 1 and 2 as well as an 8-1 victory at No. 3.
 
Wilkes' lone winner in singles play was Alexa Cieri (Matawan, NJ/St. John Vianney) who took her No. 6 match by scores of 6-4, 6-1 over Caroline Herz.
 
The Colonels return home next Saturday to TK Academy to welcome Lebanon Valley College for a match scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
