EDWARDSVILLE, PA – The Wilkes University Colonels men's lacrosse squad hosted the Delaware Valley Aggies at Schmidt Stadium Wednesday evening in their Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom opener.

The Colonels (4-6, 0-1 MACF) started out with a 5-1 lead, but the Aggies (3-6, 1-0) roared back with a 7-0 run to propel them to a 10-8 victory.

Luke Palladino (Wantagh, NY/Wantagh) started the scoring with help from Hunter Riley (Ballston Lake, NY/Shenendehowa Central) at 5:44 in the first, before Eric Ormsby (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) found a pass from Matthew Warns (Cutchogue, NY/Mattituck) at 5:10 to put the Colonels up 2-0 at the end of one.  Delaware Valley put themselves on the board at 12:28 in the second, but Alex Myers (Cortland, NY/Cortland) got an assist from Ormsby at 8:34 to keep the two-goal advantage.  Ormsby would score the next two goals at 5:46 and 5:16, including a man-up goal for the former, to put the Colonels up 5-1.

The Aggie offense and defense came to life, scoring seven goals from 4:06 in the second to 2:17 in the third with no Wilkes response.  The Colonels would battle back with a goal from Myers with an assist from Tyler Knappenberger (Orefield, PA/Parkland) at 11:34 in the fourth, but a 9:34 goal from the Aggies would prove to be the game winner.  Palladino from Ormsby at 8:06 and an Ethan Weaver (Olney, MD/James Hubert Blake) goal at 6:17 would wrap the scoring for the Colonels, and the Aggies would put the finishing touch on the scoreboard at 5:25 left in the fourth to win the game 10-8.
