Wilkes Men's Tennis Downed 8-1 Against Ursinus
KINGSTON, PA – The Wilkes University men's tennis team was back in action for the first time in over three weeks as the Colonels fell 8-1 to Centennial Conference member Ursinus College Friday afternoon at TK Academy.
Wilkes dropped to 4-3 overall in dual matches while Ursinus improved to 6-2 on the season.
Ursinus raced out to a 3-0 lead after doubles play and never looked back taking five of six singles flights to cruise to the non-conference victory.
Cole Gibson (Pinecrest, FL/Miami Palmetto Senior) was the lone winner for the Colonels capturing a hard-fought win at No. 1 singles by scores of 7-5, 5-7, 10-5.
The Colonels are back in action tomorrow with a matchup against Division I Lafayette College at 12:30 p.m. in Easton, Pa.
