Arcadia Pulls Away from Wilkes Men's Lacrosse
GLENSIDE, PA – The Wilkes University Colonels traveled to face the Arcadia Knights in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom battle Wednesday evening.
The Colonels (4-8, 0-3 MACF) took an early 3-1 lead but the Knights (7-3, 3-0) continued their hot start to conference play as they won 14-7 over the Navy and Gold.
After the Knights struck first, the Colonels rattled off three straight goals in the first period.
Ethan Weaver (Olney, MD/James Hubert Blake) got an assist from
Dillon Kadis (McSherrystown, PA/Delone Catholic) at 11:57, before Weaver struck at 10:55 and Kadis at 8:42. Arcadia would score the next six goals before
Eric Ormsby (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) helped stem the tide with a goal at 5:51 with Weaver helping.
Alex Myers (Cortland, NY/Cortland) would score at 3:36 between a pair of Arcadia goals to send the teams into the locker room with the Navy and Gold down 9-5.
The Knights would pull away in the second half, going on a 5-1 run. Kadis would score at 11:42 in the third with Ormsby assisting and again at 3:28 in the fourth period.
Ryan Lasher (Warrenton, VA/Liberty) continued his strong season in defeat, recording a .632 save percentage and recording 24 saves. Kadis earned a hat trick and finished the evening with a team-leading four points for his season and career high, while four Knights finished with three points or more.
The Colonels will continue to seek their first conference win of the season as they travel to Center Valley, Pa. to face the DeSales Bulldogs at 1:00 p.m. this Saturday. The Bulldogs lead the live stats era series 3-2 and won the last matchup 12-4 at Schmidt Stadium in 2021.
