First Half DeSales Barrage Downs Wilkes Men's Lacrosse
CENTER VALLEY, PA – The Wilkes University Colonels men's lacrosse squad continued their Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom slate with a trip to face the DeSales Bulldogs Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs (6-4, 2-1 MACF) blew past the Colonels (4-9, 0-4) with a 14-0 first half. The Colonels would eat into the DeSales lead in the second half but it wasn't enough as they fell 18-9 to their conference foe.
Tyler Knappenberger (Orefield, PA/Parkland) led the Colonels with three goals tying his career high, while
Eric Ormsby (Warwick, NY/Warwick Valley) had two goals and two assists. Both players tied for the team high with four points.
Dillon Kadis (McSherrystown, PA/Delone Catholic) had a pair of goals while
Tucker Parmer (Ephrata, PA/Ephrata) and
Alex Myers (Cortland, NY/Cortland) rounded out the Colonels goal scorers with one a piece. Zach Bowen and Pat Schuett each had four goals for DeSales. Lasher recorded 19 saves in a losing effort, while three DeSales goalkeepers combined for 11 saves.
The Colonels return home to Schmidt Stadium to host the Lycoming Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Navy and Gold won the 2021 matchup in a 11-10 thriller at home.
