Wilkes Women's Soccer Falls 2-0 to Penn State Berks 

READING, PA – The Wilkes University women's soccer team falls 2-0 at Penn State Berks on Thursday night.

The Colonels now are 0-1 to start the season, while Penn State Berks is 1-0.

Wilkes was not able to utilize their shots early in the game, as they outshot Penn State Berks 10-9 in shots, seven of which were on goal. Madison Straub (Franklin, NJ/Franklin) led the team with three shots, two were shots on goal. Erica Feese (State College, PA/State College Area) also had two shots on goal for the Colonels.

Penn State Berks scored on the 36th mark of the first half, which they held into the first half of the game.

The Colonels had an early chance to tie it up in the second half. Kiana Jedlicka (Poughquag, NY/Arlington) had a corner kick in the 59th minute, where she hit around the front of the goal, where Kailee Harwick's (Souderton, PA/Souderton) shot was saved by Penn State Berks goalkeeper. The Nittany Lions then scored around the 60th minute.

Hannah Landis (Red Hill, PA/Upper Perkiomen) saved five shots in the game for the Colonels.

Wilkes returns to action on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. as they host Penn College at Bruggerworth Field.
