Wilkes Women's Soccer Unable to Keep Up with Susquehanna 

SELINSGROVE, PA – Wilkes University women's soccer team were unable to get any offense going as they fall to Susquehanna University 2-0 on Wednesday night. 

The first half was dominated by the River Hawks, as the Colonels could only take one shot compared to Susquehanna's seven. Senior Hannah Hart (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) took her shot early in the game as she had a low shot that was saved by Susquehanna's goalie. 

Susquehanna striked first when a goal kick by Wilkes was taken away and drove down the goal, where the defense was unable to keep the ball away from the River Hawks. A shot to the bottom right of the goal gave Susquehanna the lead in the 8th minute. The River Hawks kept that lead going into halftime. 

The second half did not start off well for the Colonels, as Susquehanna took a long pass down the field and took a shot to the top left of the goal to extend the River Hawks lead in the 50th minute. Susquehanna kept the offensive pace going, shooting five shots compared to two for the Colonels. First year's Madison Whitesell (Bloomsburg, PA/Central Coulmbia) and Taylor Anthony (Middlesex, NJ/Middlesex) both took a shot in the second half. Junior goalkeeper Hannah Landis (Red Hill, PA/Upper Perkiomen) made three saves in the game. 

Wilkes remains on the road in the midst of a challenging stretch of non-conference games for a 7:30 p.m. matchup at No. 3 Messiah University on Saturday in Grantham, Pa.
