Wilkes Men's Soccer Falls 2-0 at Rutgers-Camden
CAMDEN, NJ – The Wilkes University men's soccer team lost a 2-0 road contest in non-conference action Saturday afternoon at Rutgers-Camden.
Wilkes dropped to 2-3-1 overall with the loss while Rutgers-Camden improved to 3-3-1 overall.
The first half went scoreless with the Scarlet Raptors holding a 9-3 advantage in shots.
Nick Kinzler (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Memorial) made five saves in the first 45 minutes.
Rutgers-Camden got goals in the 55th and 83rd minutes from Ethan Dreyer and Joseph Lodise as part of a second half where the hosts outshot the Colonels 6-3.
For the game the Scarlet Raptors held a 15-6 shot advantage and a 9-5 corner kick edge.
Kinzler made a career high eight saves for the Colonels.
Will Wagstaff (Allentown, PA/Parkland) and
Nicholas Surgent (Wall. NJ/Wall) each had two shots to lead the Wilkes offense.
The Colonels continue non-conference play with a road game at Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pa. on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
