Wilkes Basketball Hosts Stevens in MAC Freedom Competition
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University women's and men's basketball teams will have a short week of competition as they welcome Stevens Institute of Technology in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) action on Saturday. The women's game will start off the afternoon matchup at 1:00 p.m. with the men following at 3:00 p.m.

Women's Preview:
Wilkes comes into the game with a 5-13 record on the season, holding a 4-5 conference record in the MAC Freedom this season. Wilkes is 3-6 at home this season, winning two out of their last three contests inside the Marts Center. The Colonels lost their last matchup to Stevens on January 4 as the Colonels fell to the Ducks 66-39.
Yamirelis Matos (Springfield, MA/Chicopee) leads the Colonels in scoring with 9.5 points-per-game (ppg), which is tied for 14th in the MAC Freedom.

Wilkes comes into the contest with a 10-8 overall record and 5-4 in MAC Freedom play. Wilkes also enters the game going 6-2 at home this year, winning five of their last six home contests. The Colonels fell earlier in the year to Stevens on January 4 when the Ducks won 69-64 over Wilkes.
Drake Marshall (Gainesville, VA/Patriot) leads the Colonels in scoring to start the year with 13.1 points-per-game (ppg) which puts him tied for eighth in the MAC Freedom.
Trent Fisher (Sellersville, PA/Pennridge) follows behind with 11.8 ppg while
Cayden Merrifield (Scranton, PA/West Scranton) averages 11.1 ppg.
Lucas Lesko (Northampton, PA/Northampton) and
