Wilkes Men's Soccer Falls at Elizabethtown 3-0

ELIZABETHTOWN, PA – The Wilkes University men's soccer team dropped its road Landmark Conference game at host Elizabethtown College on Saturday afternoon by a 3-0 score.

With the loss Wilkes stands at 3-5-5 overall and 1-3-2 in the Landmark Conference with three regular season games remaining. Elizabethtown is now 6-5-2 overall and 4-2-0 in the league.

The Blue Jays opened the scoring in the 15th minute as Pedro Guizardi scored. The hosts added to their lead in the 22nd minute as Hudson Peck found the back of the net.

In the second half James Abbiss scored in the 57th minute to make it 3-0.

Michael Buckholtz (Huntingtown, MD/Northern) led Wilkes on the afternoon with two total shots while Landon Kelly (Marcellus, NY/Marcellus Senior High School) had the only shot on target for the Colonels.

Nick Kinzler (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Memorial) made six saves for Wilkes. Kelvin Del Cid made one save for Elizabethtown as he played the first 81:25 to earn the win. Bryce Domsohn played the final 8:35 for the Blue Jays but did not have to make a save to preserve the team shutout.

Elizabethtown led in the major offensive categories with 22 shots compared to six for Wilkes, nine shots-on-goal to one, and 11 corner kicks to one.

The Colonels travel to Lycoming College on Tuesday for their final Landmark Conference road matchup of the regular season. Gametime is set for 7:00 p.m. in Williamsport, Pa.
