SHAWNEE ON DELAWARE, PA – Cole Jungwirth (Bloomington, MN/Thomas Jefferson) shot a three-over 75, good for eighth place, to lead the Wilkes University men's golf team to a ninth place finish after day one of the Landmark Conference Fall Preview held at the Shawnee Golf Course.
 
Jungwirth used four birdies, on holes 1, 2, 8 and 9, on way to the three-over par finish. Trevor DuBoff (Stony Point, NY/North Rockland) followed carding an 81 on the day. Brennan Reiner (Altamont, NY/Guilderland) (93) and Sam Hopkins (Honesdale, PA/Honesdale) (99) rounded out the Colonel finishers.
 
As a team Wilkes shot a combined 348 on day one. Drew University topped all schools with a 291 while Goucher finished second at 301.
 
Wilkes will be back in action on day two at the event starting at 9:00 a.m. for a second round of play.
