KINGSTON, PA – The Wilkes University men's tennis team opened its 2023 spring season with an 8-1 setback against Moravian University Saturday afternoon at TK Academy.
 
Wilkes fell to 0-1 in dual matches while Moravian remained perfect at 7-0 on the year.
 
Wilkes' lone win came at No. 2 singles when Nathanial Rathe (Lincoln, NE/Lincoln Southeast) scored a 6-1, 6-2 straight set victory.
 
Moravian went on to win the other five singles in straight sets while sweeping all three doubles flights on way to the non-league victory.
 
Wilkes is back on the court Monday, February 27 when the Colonels host Houghton University at 3:00 p.m.
