Juniata Rolls Over Wilkes Women's Lacrosse 

EDWARDSVILLE – Wilkes University women's lacrosse team was unable to keep up with the Eagles offensive attack as the Colonels fell to Juniata College 22-1 in non-conference action in Saturday afternoon competition at Schmidt Stadium. 

Wilkes falls to 2-2 on the year while Juniata keeps their perfect record to begin the season as they are now 4-0. 

The Eagles would begin their offensive attack early as they would score eight goals in the first 11 minutes of the game. Wilkes would get on the board as Breanne Fulling (Hyde Park, NY/Franklin D. Roosevelt) would get an unassisted goal with 2:36 left in the first quarter, but Juniata would hold the 8-1 lead heading into the second period, 

Juniata would continue their attack throughout the game as they would score five goals in the second period to head into the half up 13-1. The Eagles would get four goals in the third period and five in the fourth as they would finish the game with a 22-1 victory over the Colonels. 

Fulling had the lone goal for the Colonels while Abby Miller (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) earned six draw controls. Amber DeJonge (Grands Rapids, MI/Forest Hills Eastern) and Caitlin McDonough (Exeter, PA/Wyoming Area) had two caused turnovers each. Samantha Scott (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) had 12 saves on the day. 

Wilkes will head down to Myrtle Beach, S.C. as they will take on Ferrum College in non-conference action on Tuesday, March 7 that starts at 1:00 p.m.
