Wilkes Women's Lacrosse Picks Up 13-10 Win Over NC Wesleyan to Conclude Spring Break Trip
MYRTLE BEACH, SC – Breann Fulling scored a career-high five goals to lead the Wilkes University women's lacrosse team to a 13-10 non-conference victory over North Carolina Wesleyan College Wednesday afternoon. The game concluded the two-game spring break trip for the Colonels who finished 1-1.
Wilkes evened its overall record at 3-3 following the win while NC Wesleyan fell to 0-3 on the year.
Wilkes took a 7-4 halftime lead thanks to three of Fulling's goals over the second quarter.
Sam Mullen (Dover, PA/York Catholic) and
Brooklyn Pedana (Pittston, PA/Pittston Area) provided the offensive firepower over the final thirty minutes notching two goals each to keep Wilkes ahead the entire contest.
Samantha Scott (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) started in goal and played the first half finishing with four saves to record the win.
Miriam Odell (Maryland, NY/Worcester Central School) saw her first collegiate action posting four saves in the final 12:34 in net.
Fulling also led all players with 10 draw controls.
Wilkes returns home for a non-conference game on Wednesday when the Colonels host Neumann University at 5:00 p.m. at Schmidt Stadium.
