Wilkes Women's Tennis Earns Fourth Straight MAC Freedom Win Against DeSales
CENTER VALLEY, PA – The Wilkes University women's tennis team picked up their fourth straight Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) win against the DeSales University Bulldogs 6-3 on Sunday afternoon.
The Colonels improve to 5-4 overall and 4-1 in conference. The Bulldogs move to 3-6 on the season and 1-3 in the MAC Freedom.
Wilkes almost had a clean sweep in doubles with the team of
Tea Amerise (Mountain Top, PA/Holy Redeemer) and
Kaitlyn O'Neil (Jim Thorpe, PA/Jim Thorpe) as well as the team of
Sydney Farmer (Lacey Township, NJ/Lacey Township) and
Karlee Yuscavage (Hanover Twp., PA/Hanover Area) claiming their matches.
Amerise claimed a win for the Colonels in the No. 1 slot, winning both sets 6-0.
Zoe Klein (Southbury, CT/Pomperaug) clinched the next singles win in the No. 2 slot after winning the tie-breaking set 10-5. Wilkes claimed their third consecutive singles match after
Cassidy Greenman (Glen Gardner, NJ/Voorhees) won her sets 6-3 and 6-0. Yuscavage also won her singles match in the No. 6 slot after claiming her sets 6-1 and 6-0.
The Wilkes women's tennis team returns to action on Tuesday when they host for the last time this season against Misericordia University for a 4:00 p.m. MAC Freedom matchup.
