Wilkes Women's Tennis Win Streak Broken by Misericordia
EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University women's tennis team fell 7-2 against the Misericordia University Cougars during a Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) match on Tuesday afternoon.
The Colonels move to 5-5 on the season and 4-2 in conference play. The Cougars improve to 10-6 overall and 4-1 in the MAC Freedom.
Misericordia won two of the doubles matches but Wilkes was able to claim one after the team of
Zoe Klein (Southbury, CT/Pomperaug) and
Cassidy Greenman (Glen Gardner, NJ/Voorhees) pulled off an 8-2 win.
Greenman then came through again for the Colonels, claiming her singles match in the No. 2 slot after winning her first set 6-4 and the second 6-3. The Cougars won the other five singles matches.
The Wilkes women's tennis team closes out their MAC Freedom season on Saturday when they travel to Madison, N.J. to take on FDU-Florham for a 9:00 a.m. match.
