Wilkes Men's Soccer Plays to Scoreless Draw at Moravian in Landmark Play
BETHLEHEM, PA – The Wilkes University men's soccer team played to a scoreless 0-0 draw after 90 minutes in Landmark Conference action at Moravian University Saturday afternoon at John Makuvek Field.
Wilkes moved its overall record to 3-2-4 and stands 1-0-1 in conference play. Moravian saw its overall mark move to 2-3-4 and 0-1-1 in conference matches.
Moravian held a 16-8 shot advantage throughout garnering 11 corner kick attempts to the Colonels three opportunities.
Vincent Ippolito (Park Ridge, NJ/Park Ridge) landed the Colonels first attempt at a goal when his shot was saved just six minutes into the contest.
Colin Schulmeister (Old Saybrook, CT/Old Saybrook) looked to continue his scoring tear with a shot later in the first half that was saved by the Greyhounds keeper.
Xavier Guerreiro (Newtown, PA/Council Rock North) had the Colonels best chance to steal the game in the second half but his shot at 83:47 was also denied by the Moravian goalie.

Nick Kinzler (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Memorial) finished with nine saves to preserve the tie in goal.
Wilkes continues Landmark action Tuesday with a road matchup at Drew University at 7:00 p.m.
