Wilkes Women's Soccer Drops Road Contest to Moravian 3-0
 
BETHLEHEM – The Wilkes University women's soccer team was shutout on the road Saturday afternoon against Moravian University, dropping the Landmark Conference matchup by a score of 3-0. 
 
The loss brought the Colonels' record 2-3-4 overall and 0-1-1 in the Landmark. Moravian's win their overall record to 4-2-3 while pushing their conference record to 1-0-1.
 
Greyhound senior Danielle Bishop opened the scoring late into the first half after collecting a pass from Megan Colton and burying it into the back of the net. Her first of the season put Moravian in the lead at 41:23 by a score of 1-nil.
 
The Greyhounds would preserve the lead through the final three minutes of play and go into halftime up by a goal.
 
Colonels goalkeeper Hannah Landis (Red Hill, PA/Upper Perkiomen) kept her team in the game, stopping two scoring attempts in a span of five minutes.
 
She was unable to keep the Moravian offense at bay, as Carly Pyatt potted her fourth goal of the season to double the Greyhounds' lead at 60:23.
 
Sydney DeFranco would tack on another goal for Moravian at 78:10, with Amanda Aloia picking up an assist on the 3-0 marker.
 
Hayli Akakpo-Martin (Middletown, PA/Middletown Area) would attempt to spoil the combined shutout from Moravian goalkeepers Payce Korpics and Paige Harrison with two shots in the final two minutes of the match. Both shots failed to go in, solidifying the Greyhounds' 3-0 win.
 
Holly Feese (State College, PA/State College Area) led the Wilkes offense  in shots with four while Landis made two saves for the Colonels.
 
DeFranco led Moravian with four shots as Colton and Aloia both recorded assists in the 3-0 win. Korpics and Harrison split time in goal and both made a save for the Greyhounds.

The Colonels return home to Bruggeworth Field on Tuesday when they host Drew University in a Landmark Conference clash. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m.
