Wilkes Men's Soccer Fall in Non-Conference Matchup at King's

WILKES-BARRE, PA - Even with strong efforts to hold the Monarchs scoreless, the Wilkes men's soccer team fell to King's 1-0 on Wednesday night.

King's totaled 21 shots over Wilkes' eight during the game, with 12 being on goal compared to the Colonel's two. Herbert Ramirez (Highstown, NJ/Highstown) and Nick Romas (Collegeville, PA/Perkiomen Valley) each recorded a shot on goal in the game. The lone goal was scored by King's Mark Atherton in the 58th minute of play. 

In goal, Matthew Conti (Florence, NJ/Florence Township Memorial High School) and Owen Heale (Toms River, NJ/Toms River South) each played a half. Conti recorded two saves in the first half and Heale recorded nine saves in the second. Ramirez's shot on goal added to his team high nine shots on goal for the season. 

The Colonels will be back at home this Saturday, October 5 as they host Moravian for a conference matchup beginning at 3:30 p.m.
