EDWARDSVILLE, PA - The Wilkes field hockey team pulled away with an impressive 2-1 victory over Catholic University on Saturday afternoon.

Gayoski's goal came off a corner, following shots by Morgan Millard (Bloomsburg, PA/Bloomsburg Area) and Hermanofski. The Cardinals responded in the first minute of the third quarter with a goal by Niki Micciche that was assisted by Caroline Caputo with a cross from the right side. The Colonels were not done yet, with Bridget Rosenfeld (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) scoring the go ahead goal for Wilkes in the 12th minute of the third quarter to put the Colonels back in the lead. Rosenfeld's goal came off a rebound from the goalkeeper from a shot by Gayoski. A strong team effort by the Colonels in the fourth quarter held the Cardinals at one for the remainder of the game.
