Wilkes Women's Soccer Drops Road Match at Catholic
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Wilkes women's soccer team fell to Catholic on the road Saturday with a score of 4-0.
The Cardinals opened the scoring in the fifth minute of the game, with a goal by Savannah Hensley in the bottom left of the net that was assisted by Sara Placide. Catholic continued pushing, adding another goal in the ninth minute scored by Isabel Doherty as well as in the 21st minute scored by Emily Harkins and assisted by Peyton Coron. The Cardinal finished out the scoring in the second half with another goal by Doherty in the 56th minute.
Katie Sites (Collegeville, PA/Spring-Ford Area) and Holly Feese (State College, PA/State College Area) led the Colonels in shots with two apiece. Julianna Askins (Carlisle, PA/Carlise) and Erin Edwards (East Greenville, PA/Upper Perkiomen) each added a shot as well. Feese and Jess Shea (Somerset, NJ/Franklin) each recorded one shot on goal for Wilkes. In goal for the Colonels, Delaney Yaracs (Butler, PA/Butler) recorded three saves during the game.
The Colonels will be on the road next Saturday, November 2, for their final game of the regular season against Goucher College. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
