Box Score Wilkes Field Hockey Falls 3-0 at Moravian in Landmark Play

BETHLEHEM -- Host Moravian University scored two goals in the first half then added an insurance tally in the fourth quarter on way to a 3-0 Landmark Conference victory over the Wilkes University field hockey team Saturday afternoon at John Makuvek Field.
Wilkes dropped to 2-9 overall and 0-3 in Landmark play. Moravian improved to 3-8 overall and 1-2 in league games.
The Greyhounds wasted little time taking the lead as Sydney Anderson found Gia Ambrosino for a goal just :22 into the contest.
Ambrosino made it 2-0 late in the second quarter scoring unassisted at 19:40.
Ambrosino completed the hat trick in the fourth sealing the game with her third goal at 46:40.
Moravian held a 15-2 shot advantage while garnering 11 penalty corners to the Colonels one attempt.
Olivia Wickel (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) finished with seven saves in goal for Wilkes. Maia Machado recorded the shutout making one stop.
Wilkes finishes off non-conferenxe play Wednesday when the Colonels travel to Center Valley, PA for a matchup with DeSales University scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
