Wilkes Men's Tennis Takes Two in Double Dual

EDWARDSVILLE -- The Wilkes University men's tennis team picked up a pair of wins to close out the fall season Saturday afternoon at the Ralston Athletic Complex.Â
The Colonels began the day with a 5-2 win over Rutgers Camden before taking it's first Landmark Conference match of the season 6-1 over Elizabethtown College.
In the win over Rutgers-Camden, Wilkes took two out of three matches in doubles for one team point before winning four matches in singles play.
Nathanial Rathe (Lincoln, NE/Lincoln Southeast) and
Sebastian Sylvester (Diego Martin, Trinidad and Tobago/The College of Lady Fatima) were 7-6 (5) winner at No. 1 while
Cole Riley (Louisville, KY/Xavier) and
Otarhe Okoh (Shakopee, MN/Shakopee) won 6-4 at No. 2.
Rathe was a 3-2, retired winner at No. 1, Sylvester a 6-4, 6-1 winner at No. 2 and
Connor Frey (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) a 6-4, 6-3 winner at No. 4.
Okoh rounded out the Wilkes singles winners at No. 5 with a 6-0, 6-1 victory.
In the win against Elizabethtown, Wilkes took two of three in doubles play before posting wins at No. 2 through 6 in singles flights.Â
Sylvester, Riley, Okoh, Frey and
Donovan Zong (Bethlehem, PA/Salisbury Township) were the singles winners for the Colonels.
