Wilkes Women's Tennis Wins Two to Close Out Fall Season

EDWARDSVILLE -- The Wilkes University women's tennis team recorded a pair of dual match victories to close out its fall schedule Saturday afternoon at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
Wilkes scored a 4-3 victory over Rutgers-Camden in the day's first match before posting it's first Landmark win of the year with a 5-2 decision over Elizabethtown.
Wilkes took the team point over Rutgers-Camden in doubles play with wins at No. 1 and No. 3.
Tea Amerise (Mountain Top, PA/Holy Redeemer) and
Sydney Farmer (Lacey Township, NJ/Lacey Township) won 6-3 at the top spot while
Karlee Yuscavage (Hanover Twp., PA/Hanover Area) and
Julia Spaeth (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg Area) claimed a 7-5 victory at No. 3.
Amerise and Spaeth were also singles winners at No. 1 and 2 before
Isabel Schreffler (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown West) closed out the match with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 4.
In the win over Elizabethtown,
Kensington Edmond (Mount Joy, PA/Donegal) and Schreffler won 6-1 at No. 2 pairs while Yuscavage and Farmer won 6-3 at No. 3 as the Colonels picked up the team point in doubles.
Amerise, Spaeth, Edmond and Schreffler all recorded singles win in straight sets to close out the match and the league win.
