Wilkes Women's Soccer Fall in Conference Match Against Moravian 2-1

EDWARDSVILLE, PA - The Wilkes women's soccer team fell to Moravian 2-1 in a Saturday afternoon conference matchup.

The Colonels struck first in the first half with a goal by Holly Feese (State College, PA/State College Area) in the 11th minute of the game off of a corner kick by Elena Krajain (Lumberton, NJ/Rancocas Valley Regional). The Greyhounds responded three minutes later with a goal of their own that went just past Wilkes goalkeeper Amanda Lee (Middletown, PA/Middletown Area) in the bottom right of the goal. Carly Pyatt recorded the goal and Sydney DeFranco tallied the assist. After a physical and back and forth battle between the two teams for next 67 minutes, Moravian was able to secure the lead with a goal scored by Hailey Scaff in the 81st minute off of a free kick. 

Moravian recorded six shots on goal compared to Wilkes' three throughout the game. The three Colonels that tallied the shots on goal were Holly Feese (State College, PA/State College Area) and Sarah Eliff (Owings, MD/Northern). In goal for the Colonels was Amanda Lee (Middletown, PA/Middletown Area), who recorded four saves during the game. 

The Colonels will be on the road for their next match this Wednesday, October 9, against Drew. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
