Wilkes Women's Soccer Draws at Drew

MADISON, NJ - The Wilkes women's soccer team tied at Drew on Wednesday night with a final score of 1-1.

The Colonels opened the scoring in the 11th minute with a goal by Erin Edwards (East Greenville, PA/Upper Perkiomen). The goal came off a shot from outside the box that was tipped in off the Drew goalkeeper. The Rangers had the upper hand in shots over the Colonels with five compared to Wilkes' two. The Colonel's other shot of the half was taken by Sarah Eliff (Owings, MD/Northern) which was saved by Drew's Sarah Crowley. Wilkes goalkeeper Amanda Lee (Middletown, PA/Middletown Area) did not need to make any save during the first half. 

The Rangers responded in the second half with a goal of their own in the 82nd minute. The goal was scored by Rebeca Racine in a shot that was off the post and rebounded for the goal. Drew fired off nine shots in the second half, with two being on goal. Wilkes recorded two shots in the second half and in goal, Lee made one save. 

The Colonels next game will be this Saturday, October 12 at home for senior day. The game is set to begin at 2 p.m.
