Wilkes Women's Basketball Falls to Roanoke on the Road
SALEM, VA - The Wilkes women's basketball team fell to Roanoke College Saturday night with a final score of 82-36.
In total, the Colonels were 11-53 from the field and 6-24 on three point attempts as well as 8-16 from the free throw line. Wilkes collected 33 rebounds in the game, six offensive and 27 defensive as well as one block and seven assists. The Colonels also picked up seven steals and recorded 14 points off turnovers by the Maroons.
Yamirelis Matos (Springfield, MA/Chicopee) led the team, going 5-15 from the field and 2-5 on three point attempts. Matos also led in rebounds with six, assists with two, blocks with one and points with 14. Madison Robel (Middlesex, NJ/Middlesex) went 3-4 from the free throw line and tallied five rebounds and Delaney Bogdan (Long Valley, NJ/Mendham) recorded two steals and two assists as well as five rebounds.
The Colonels will be back in action tomorrow, November 17 on the road against Randolph-Macon. The game is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
