HERSHEY, Pa. – The Wilkes women's ice hockey team fell to Lebanon Valley College on Saturday night, conceding the weekend series with a 1-0 loss at Hersheypark Arena.

Wilkes falls to 3-3 on the year with a 2-2 record in MAC play, while Lebanon Valley improves to 5-0 and 4-0 in conference play.

The game was deadlocked through two periods, forcing 21 saves, but just two minutes into the third period, the Dutchmen broke the stalemate with a goal from Jess Dawe. The Colonels peppered the Lebanon Valley goal with 28 shots in the third period but were unable to find the equalizer.

Iida Laitinen (Jyväskylä, Finland) and Nina Hudáková led the Colonels with nine shots each, while Rachel Morey (Clearmont, WY) led the team from the faceoff circle with eight wins. In defense, Tilly Weirdsma had a team-high four blocked shots and Audrey Milne (London, ON) made 22 saves in goal.

Leela Nemani led the Dutchmen with five shots and 14 faceoff wins, while Mia Frisoni made 49 saves in goal for the hosts.

The Colonels return to the Toyota SportsPlex next weekend as they host Hood College for a weekend series starting Saturday, November 23 at 7:00 p.m.
