Wilkes Women's Ice Hockey Completes Two Game Sweep Over Stevenson
OWINGS MILLS, MD - The Wilkes women's ice hockey team put up a strong performance against Stevenson this weekend, with today's game ending in a 5-1 win for the Colonels.
Meghan Croyle scores the Mustang's lone goal of the game in the third minute of the first period, with an assist by Abby Smith. Dani Longuemare answered in the 11th minute of the first with a power play goal assisted by Jordan Ferry (Bohemia, NY). The Colonels added three more goals in the second period. Lily Zingaro (Collingwood, ON) scored in the sixth minute, assisted by Nina Hudakova and Chayce Hyndman (Mountain, ON). Savanna Maxon (Anchorage, AK/Alaska All-Stars) scored in the ninth minute with assists by Haylee Bouchard (Sioux Lookout, ON) and Renee Ng (Hong Kong, China/Mount Academy). Bouchard added a goal of her own in the 15th minute with assists coming from Gianna Pacilio (Franklinville, NJ) and Tilly Wierdsma (New Hartford, CT/). Longuemare added her second of the game in the sixth minute of the third period, with Wierdsma on the assist.
Pacilio led the team in shots with nine during the game, followed by Bouchard with eight and Amanda Spreadbury (Suwanee, GA) with seven. Wierdsma, Bouchard, Zingaro, Ferry, Hudakova, and Anneke Bouma (Newcastle, ON) each ended the game with a plus two. Wierdsma, Bouma, Ng, and Hyndman each recorded one block during the game. In goal, Audrey Milne (London, ON) recorded nine saves on 10 shots and Emma Swansburg (Shelburne, NS/Shelburne Regional) had two saves.
The Colonels next game will be at home against Buffalo State on January 3. Puck drop is scheduled for 5 p.m.
