Wilkes Women's Tennis Upended Against Lebanon Valley 7-2
KINGSTON, PA – Visiting Lebanon Valley College got out to an early 2-1 lead after doubles then won all six singles flights on way to a 7-2 non-conference dual match victory over the Wilkes University women's tennis team Sunday afternoon at TK Academy.
Wilkes fell to 1-4 overall in dual match play while LVC continued its unbeaten streak at 5-0 on the season.
Zoe Klein (Southbury, CT/Pomperaug) and
Karlee Yuscavage (Hanover Twp., PA/Hanover Area) were the lone winners for the Colonels in doubles play winning 8-2 at No. 3 pairs.
Wilkes' win in singles play came at No. 5 where
Kaitlyn O'Neil (Jim Thorpe, PA/Jim Thorpe) took her one eight-point set 8-6.
Tea Amerise (Mountain Top, PA/Holy Redeemer) lost a hard-fought 7-5, 7-6 (7-2) match at No. 1 against Jacquelyn McBride. The rest of the LVC singles wins came in straight set fashion.
Wilkes remains idle until it begins its first season of Landmark Conference play hosting Goucher College on Saturday, March 23 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
