Wilkes Men's Tennis Drops 7-2 Decision Against Goucher in Landmark Play
KINGSTON, PA – The Wilkes University men's tennis team opened its spring schedule of Landmark Conference action falling 7-2 against Goucher College Saturday afternoon at TK Academy.
Wilkes fell to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in league matches while Goucher improved to 5-7 overall and 2-0 in conference contests.
Goucher opened with a 3-0 lead after doubles play before taking four of six singles flights.
Angelo Guzman (Port Jefferson Station, NY/Comsewogue) won his No. 1 singles match 6-1, 2-6, 10-6 in three sets.
Sebastian Sylvester (Diego Martin, Trinidad and Tobago/The College of Lady Fatima) was the other Colonel winner in singles play posting a thrilling comeback win in three sets 3-6, 6-2, 11-9.
Wilkes continues Landmark play tomorrow (Sunday) with a dual match against Catholic University starting at 11:00 a.m. at TK Academy.
