Wilkes Men's Tennis Falls 7-2 Against Catholic
KINGSTON, PA – The Wilkes University men's tennis team fell 7-2 against Catholic University in a Landmark Conference match held at TK Academy Sunday afternoon.
Wilkes saw its overall record drop to 3-4 overall and stand 1-2 in conference matches. Catholic improved to 10-4 overall and remain unbeaten in Landmark play at 3-0.
Catholic took a 2-1 lead after doubles play with Wilkes' lone win coming from the pair of
Nathanial Rathe (Lincoln, NE/Lincoln Southeast) and
Connor Frey (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) at No. 2 with a score of 8-6.
Catholic then took five of the six singles flights as
Cole Riley (Louisville, KY/Xavier) won his No. 5 match 6-4, 6-3 for the Colonels.
Wilkes remains idle through the Easter holiday returning to play on Tuesday, April 2 when the Colonels host Misericordia University in a non-conference match scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
