Wilkes Women's Tennis Falls 6-3 Against Catholic in Landmark Play
KINGSTON, PA – The Wilkes University women's tennis team fell 6-3 against Catholic University in a Landmark Conference match Sunday afternoon at TK Academy.
Wilkes saw its overall record drop to 1-6 overall and stand 1-2 in conference matches. Catholic improved to 6-8 overall and 2-1 in league contests.
Catholic took two-of-three in doubles play with Wilkes' lone win coming at No. 2 pairs as
Tea Amerise (Mountain Top, PA/Holy Redeemer) and
Kensington Edmond (Mount Joy, PA/Donegal) won 8-6.
The visitors then claimed wins in four of the six singles flights to clinch the match. Amerise was a straight set winner at No. 1 singles posting scores of 6-1, 6-0. Cassidy Greeman took her No. 3 singles match by scores of 6-3, 6-0.
Wilkes returns to Landmark play on Wednesday when the Colonels travel to Williamsport, Pa. to face Lycoming College starting at 3:30 p.m.
