TOWSON, Md. – Wilkes softball pitcher Lauren DeMarco (Merrick, NY/Sanford H. Calhoun) earned her second-straight Landmark Softball Pitcher of the Week award for games played from March 25-31, as announced by the conference office this afternoon.

DeMarco made two appearances for the Colonels last week, starting with a relief outing against FDU Florham. The sophomore entered the game in the bottom of the fourth inning of game one and pitched 2.2 innings allowing five hits and giving up one earned run in the 6-5 loss with two strikeouts.

DeMarco dazzled in her game one start against Marywood on Thursday, echoing her performance against Moravian with another shutout outing. She pitched the complete game allowing only two hits with 12 strikeouts, matching a career-high she set in 2023 against FDU.

In total, the sophomore pitched 9.2 innings, allowing one earned run on seven hits with 14 strikeouts.

DeMarco continues to lead the Landmark Conference with a 0.62 ERA and only three earned runs allowed. She is also third in the conference in strikeouts with 31.

DeMarco and the Colonels will be in action next on Wednesday, April 3 as they host the University of Scranton in a Landmark doubleheader. First pitch for game one is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
