Wilkes Women's Lacrosse Suffers Setback at Susquehanna 17-4
 
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Wilkes women's lacrosse team lost at Susquehanna University on Saturday afternoon, falling 17-4 at Sassafras Field in Landmark Conference competition on Saturday afternoon.

With the loss, the Colonels fall to 2-12 overall with an 0-6 record against Landmark opposition, while Susquehanna improves to 9-5 on the year with a 3-3 record in conference play.

Susquehanna opened the game with 12 unanswered goals before Breanne Fulling (Hyde Park, NY/Franklin D. Roosevelt) put the Colonels on the board in the second quarter, assisted by Brooklyn Pedana (Pittston, PA/Pittston Area), to make the score 12-1 with 1:51 left in the half.

Sam Mullen (Dover, PA/York Catholic) then got on the board with 2:13 remaining in the third, assisted by Anmarie Lebron (Pennsauken, NJ/Pennsauken), to make it a 16-2 game. Pedana added a brace in the fourth quarter with assists from Mullen and Lebron, but the Colonels fell 17-4.

Pedana led the team with two goals and one assist, totaling a team-high three points. Maleah Cobham (Westbury, NY/W.T. Clarke) led the team with five shots and shared the lead in shots on goal with Pedana at three each. Fulling and Ava Ward (Mount Pleasant, SC/Bishop England) led the team in ground balls with three each, while Ward led in draw controls (8) and caused turnovers (2). In net, Brooklynn Donia (Sewell, NJ/Washington Township) made four saves in 30 minutes of action, while Samantha Scott (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) made two saves.

Six River Hawks scored a team-high two goals, but it was Emma Kelleher who led the team in assists with four to put together a six-point performance. Madi Mitchell led the team with five ground balls and four caused turnovers, while Aerin O'Brien made five saves in net.

The Colonels return to action on Wednesday, April 17 as they travel to take on the University of Scranton at 4:00 p.m.
