Wilkes Women's Tennis Falls 8-1 Against Moravian
EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University women's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to Moravian University in a Landmark Conference match Saturday afternoon at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
Wilkes fell to 4-9 overall and 4-5 in league play while Moravian improved to 13-3 overall and 6-1 in Landmark matches.
Moravian took a 3-0 lead after doubles play with wins of 8-7 (7-4) at No. 1, 8-5 at No. 2 and 8-1 at No. 3.
Zoe Klein (Southbury, CT/Pomperaug) was the lone Colonels winner in singles play taking her match by the scores of 7-6 (7-4), 2-6, 12-10.
Wilkes closed out its first regular season in the Landmark Conference following the conclusion of the match. The Colonels, currently in the final playoff position of 6
th place, will await the final seeding of the upcoming Landmark Conference Tournament which begins April 30.
