SHAWNEE ON THE DELAWARE, PA – The Wilkes University women's golf team finished in fifth place after day one of the 2024 Landmark Conference Championships Saturday afternoon at Shawnee Inn Golf Club.
 
Wilkes shot a combined team score of 404. Catholic University sits in first place after one round with a score of 315 while Drew University is in second place at 337.
 
Kyleen McCance (Hanover, PA/Hanover Area) continued her strong play this season besting her personal best with a 76 (+4) including birdies on the seventh and tenth holes. McCance sits tied for second overall with Catholic's Lauren Lombardo, four strokes behind the leader Kayla DIaz from Drew University who shot an even 72 in round one. Gianna Picco (Waverly, NY/Waverly) followed carding a 98 while Mollie Corbett (Hanover Twp., PA/Hanover Area Jr./Sr.) finished with a 111. Lauren Koval (Swoyersville, PA/Wyoming Valley West) (119) and Kylee Laudenslager (Kingston, PA/Wyoming Valley West) (124) rounded out the Colonels finishers.
 
Round two action begins at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow (Sunday).
