EDWARDSVILLE – Visiting Drew University saw 11 players reach the point column as the Rangers posted a 24-8 Landmark Conference victory over the Wilkes University women's lacrosse team Wednesday afternoon at Schmidt Stadium.
 
Wilkes fell to 2-9 overall and 0-3 in Landmark play. Drew improved to 5-6 overall and picked up its first conference win standing 1-2.
 
The Rangers raced out to a 16-3 halftime lead and never looked back outshooting Wilkes 29-6 through the first 30 minutes of play. Brooklyn Pedana (Pittston, PA/Pittston Area) tied the game at one on a man-up goal, her seventh tally of the season. After Drew went on a 9-0 scoring run, Ava Ward (Mount Pleasant, SC/Bishop England) notched her 16th goal of the year off a free position and Maleah Cobham (Westbury, NY/W.T. Clarke) found the back of the net off an assist from Pedana to make the score 10-3 with 12:33 left in the second quarter. Drew finished out the half with six unanswered goals to take the 13-point advantage to the break.
 
After Drew added to its lead outscoring the Colonels 6-1 over the third quarter, Wilkes responded in the fourth and final frame scoring four of its eight goals in the stanza.
 
Ward and Pedana completed their hat tricks in the fourth and Emma Raville (Gettysburg, PA/Gettysburg Area) scored her first collegiate goal with 2:05 on the clock to round out the Colonels scoring in the contest.
 
Ward and Pedana each totaled four points on three goals and one assist. Cobham followed with one goal and two helpers.
 
Brooklynn Donia (Sewell, NJ/Washington Township) started in goal and played 45 minutes finishing with 11 saves. Samantha Scott (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) anchored the goal for the fourth frame.
 
Wilkes continues Landmark play Saturday with a trip to Goucher College. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. in Baltimore, Maryland.
