Wilkes Women's Tennis Drops 8-1 Decision at Scranton
SCRANTON, PA – The Wilkes University women's tennis team continued its Landmark Conference schedule falling 8-1 at local rival the University of Scranton Tuesday afternoon at the Royals Courts.
Wilkes slipped to 3-7 overall and saw its conference mark even at 3-3 on the season. Scranton improved to 6-6 overall and 4-1 in league matches following the home win.
The Colonels lone win came at No. 1 doubles where
Cassidy Greenman (Glen Gardner, NJ/Voorhees) and
Zoe Klein (Southbury, CT/Pomperaug) earned a hard-fought 8-7 victory including an 8-6 decision in the tiebreaker.
Scranton took the other two doubles matches then went on to sweep all six singles flights in straight sets.
Wilkes remains on the road with another Landmark Conference match Saturday at Elizabethtown College at 12:00 p.m.
