Wilkes Men's Soccer Defeats Keystone 1-0

WILKES-BARRE - The Wilkes University men's soccer team won their first home match of the season tonight against Keystone College with the final score being 1-0.

The Colonels dominated the first half offensively, totaling seven shots in the half and earning four corner kick attempts. The lone goal of the game was scored in the final seconds of the first half with a goal by Elijah Emedoh-Kaba (Gilbertsville, PA/Boyertown Area) assisted by Xavier Guierreiro that came off a corner kick. In goal, Matthew Conti (Florence, NJ/Florence Township Memorial High School) did not see much action, having to make zero saves with Keystone only recording one shot in the half.

In the second half, the Giants turned up the heat a little, recording five shots in the half over Wilkes' three. Conti made four saves in the half. The Colonels added six more corner kicks this half, asserting their dominance on the offense. 

The Colonels will be back on the pitch this Saturday, September 14, on the road against Misericordia. The game is set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
